Fish Island itself has some beautiful cafes, perfect for brunch, and is minutes from both the Olympic Park (East) and Victoria Park (West).

Stratford Westfield and Underground is a 20 minute walk, or 5 minute cycle. Bow Road underground is about 20 minutes too.
