Winsham is a small secluded rural hamlet situated to the east of the A361 road from Braunton to Ilfracombe, yet it is only circa half a mile from the village of Knowle and approximately 2 miles from the centre of Braunton to the south west with it's many local amenities. It is also extremely well located for access to the renowned beaches at Croyde and Woolacombe (both circa 6 miles to the west). The larger town of Barnstaple with further schools and amenities is approximately 7 miles to the south east.

North Devon Council granted prior approval (Ref.66689) for a proposed change of use of agricultural barn to a dwellinghouse (Class C3) and for associated development at Higher Winsham Farm, Winsham, Braunton, EX33 2LX on 25th June 2019. This was granted under Class Q, Part 3, Schedule 2 of the Town & Country Planning (General Permitted Development) order 2015 as amended.
