The principle tree species is Norway spruce with an assessed yield class of 16 with an attractive component of mixed broadleaves, principally adjacent to the public and forest access roads. The woodland is rich in biodiversity and wildlife, including red squirrels.
Auchattie Wood has a high percentage of commercial timber and is ideally located close to several local sawmills. Norway spruce with the odd small pocket of Sitka spruce and
Lodgepole pine. The north and eastern edges are bounded by a broadleaf mix including beech and birch. The woodland is approaching an age and height where it could be clear felled,
which subject to obtaining the necessary felling permissions will generate early income for the purchaser.
Lot 2 extends to 2.68 hectares and contains woodland of two distinct characters. The southern section includes about 0.78 hectares of mature Norway spruce, which extends along the southern boundary.
