Corsham offers many types of houses from the period town house to the modern estate, but Moon House is something completely unique and a total break from the norm. Dating back to c.1865 and originally used a Bath stone quarry workshop, this home has been converted and modernised to create an individually desirable home that offers great accommodation space arranged over three floors. To the front of the home is a beautiful communal courtyard and to the rear are outstanding views that stretch across the picturesque Box Valley.
Having seen many improvements and sympathetic enhancements over the last four years, Moon House could make the perfect weekend retreat that is close to Bath, a lovely home or even a wonderful retreat.
Entrance into the home is via the front door, opening onto a welcoming and cosy Reception Hallway. There are stairs that lead to the first floor and doors that open to the Kitchen/Diner and Living Room.
The Kitchen/Diner has been delicately re-fitted with contemporary styled units providing plenty of storage options. There is a 5-ring gas hob with high level electric ovens to the side. A Dish Washer is also integrated and there is space for tall Fridge/Freezer and a Tumble Dryer. Views extend across open farmland.
There is a Cloakroom/Utility Room just to the side. Fitted with a w/c and sink there is additional space for a Washing Machine. The boiler has also been re-fitted within the last four years.
The Sitting Room is comfortable yet spacious with incredible views, enhanced by the double doors and faux balcony. The wood burner brings a cosy feel with an eye-catching surround. Spiral stairs lead down to the lower floor.
The lower quarters have been converted and tanked providing a super space for additional interconnecting accommodation, bedrooms, and work rooms. Currently these rooms are used as a snug, fourth double bedroom and a home gym.
The first-floor accommodation provides a split-level landing with doors to all rooms. Bedroom one is a charming room with space for a large double bed and additional bedroom furniture. Furthermore, the double doors bring that incredible view into the room. Bedroom two is also double in size with a built-in wardrobe and there is a good-sized single room for the third. The Family Bathroom has been modernised and re-fitted providing a very contemporary bathroom suite. Also from the landing is a door that accesses the balcony that overlooks the courtyard. Perfect space for a morning’s coffee or an evening’s glass of chilled wine.
Whether you are enjoying a coffee on the balcony overlooking the sunny courtyard below or you throw open the doors and take in the breath-taking views across the Box valley. This really is a lovely home or an ideal lock up and leave for those wonderful retreats with accommodation that offers excellent flexibility.
The Garage is located on the approach and has an up and over door. The current owners park two cars immediately to the front of the Garage.
Located halfway between Corsham and Box there is a fine choice of local facilities that include primary school, doctors’ surgery, public houses and fine eateries. The village of Box is well known for its strong community spirit and even hosts its own events. You’ll be spoilt for choice with countryside walks and the popular Quarrymans Arms public house is literally just up the road. An establishment known for its great food, fine ales and outstanding views.
In all honesty, the only way to understand the delights of Moon House is to arrange for a private viewing, and the viewings are highly recommended.
The Georgian City of Bath can be easily reached using public transport and the M4 is just a short drive away.
