Description

We understand this property has been in the same family ownership since it was built. The plot was bought in the 1950s and the property built to their own specifications. It was later extended in the early 1970s. It sits in a plot extending to approximately a quarter of an acre (not verified).

The property does now need considerable refurbishment and remedial works; most notably the roof requires work, the kitchen is dated and the bathrooms are unfinished. The property is sold as it is with great potential to enhance the existing footprint, or to extend as neighbours have done. It is still perfectly liveable, and occupied by the family.

The property is approached over a driveway with a parking/tuning area and access to the integral single garage. The front garden is large and offers plenty of further potential for parking and enhancing the entrance from the road. The garden has mature planting to the front boundary making it very private. There is access to either side of the house leading to the superb rear garden. There is a patio area opening onto a large lawn with the lower half of the garden being somewhat overgrown with mature trees and shrubs. The garden is a lot longer than our photos show as a result.

The house itself is arranged over two floors. The original house has had a two storey extension to the side, providing additional upstairs accommodation over the garage and an open storage area. The woodwork to the stairs and the parquet flooring downstairs are attractive original features. The property has double glazing and gas central heating.

On the ground floor the main entrance hall leads to the dining room to the rear with patio doors to the double glazed conservatory overlooking the garden. The dining room also opens into the sitting room to the front, creating an open-plan living space. There is a fireplace and double doors to the front. The kitchen is to the rear, overlooking the garden, with a basic range of units and a range cooker. There is also a separate utility area which also houses the gas fired boiler. From here you can access the storage are where there is access to the garage and a door leading to the second floor extension.

Upstairs, the main landing has a large airing cupboard and connects to the secondary landing with the stairs from the aforementioned storage area. This was done originally to provide annex accommodation. There are five bedrooms in total plus a laundry room which was originally the kitchenette for the annex. There are two bathrooms, one of which needs finishing.
