Description
Description

The hut is conveniently positioned within one and half miles of Frinton's mainline railway station and Connaught Avenue with its shopping amenities. Named 'Caribu' this hut is a much-loved family beach hut. It is located at No. 62 The Leas, Frinton-on-Sea, in a superb position on the front row of the promenade giving stunning views from its elevated position onto the beach below and up and down the coast.
The hut has been owned by the same local family since it was built in the 1970s and has a lovely 'retro' family beach holiday feel about it and is newly painted in red cedar on the outside and white and cedar wood on the inside.
At low tide there is a glorious expanse of smooth golden sand as far as the eye can see, washed clean twice a day by the tide. The large beach allows for sunbathing, building sandcastles, playing various beach games and of course swimming and in the high summer months there is a floating swimming platform for the more adventurous to play on.
At high tide there is a wide promenade outside the hut allowing people to sit in deckchairs, play games and enjoy the sunshine and scenery.
The hut itself has two rooms including a kitchenette with work surface and two ring gas-stove for making tea or heating up soup. There is a folding table next to a long seating bench and 3 stools allowing 8 people to sit around it. The hut has ample kitchen equipment to cater for up to 8 people including cups, plates, bowls, cutlery and washing up bowl and brushes.
There are 6 deck chairs and 2 plastic chairs for use on the beach, promenade or inside the hut.
For the children and young at heart, there is a large box of beach toys including buckets and spades of varying sizes, beach boules, cricket bat and stumps, tennis rackets and balls, frisbee, football and toy boats.
If you enjoy exploring, at low tide there are often pools on the beach where you can go crabbing and looking for shrimps, shells or starfish.
Other essential facilities are not far away either. 'Caribu' is 150m from the nearest toilet block at the end of the ramp down from where cars park at end of Audley Way/Waltham Way/Central Avenue (towards Frinton), or there are toilets towards Walton Pier, near where you can buy an ice cream and other refreshments.
There is a fresh water tap about 20m from the hut (towards Walton), allowing you to collect water for making a cup of tea and doing the washing up.
The hut has stunning views because it is elevated above the beach with 6 wooden steps up to the beach hut veranda and 6 concrete steps up from the promenade.
Free car parking is about 250m away from the hut at the end of Central Avenue or Audley Way or Waltham Way, Frinton and access to the hut and beach is either via steps down the cliff or using a sloping access road, with the toilet block at the bottom.
