Surrounding Area

Caerwent (Welsh: Caer-went) is a village in Monmouthshire, Wales. It is located about five miles west of Chepstow and eleven miles east of Newport, and was founded by the Romans as the market town of Venta Silurum, an important settlement of the Brythonic Silures tribe. The modern village is built around the Roman ruins, which are some of the best-preserved in Europe.
It has easy access by Motorway and Rail to both Cardiff and Bristol. The nearest local town is Caldicot, where you will find a flat shopping centre with free parking, and there are twice weekly markets in the town centre. Caldicot has an active leisure centre with swimming pool and there are several golf courses nearby. The town is proud of its history, and it’s Medieval Castle with spacious grounds and Country Park which are free for local residents to use.
The nearest bus stops are at Eastgate Crescent and on the A48 near Dinham, both a short walk from the property. The nearest train station is at Caldicot, or Severn tunnel junction for trains to Bristol, Cardiff and beyond; both stations would be a short drive.
