This was our first house together and it's become a beloved family home. We liked the area; it is in such a quiet road and the tranquillity extends to the back as the garden is very long and unoverlooked.

We had a lot to renovate with the whole house needing updating. We rewired it immediately then began work, adding the downstairs cloakroom and decorating throughout. We chose a white gloss for the kitchen cabinets which lifted the room instantly. During lockdown, I had to work from home and took full advantage of the light by throwing open the doors to the garden, allowing the sunshine to flood in. It was wonderful! Because the previous owners were keen gardeners, we were lucky to inherit a substantial level lawn, surrounded by mature and well-stocked shrub borders, such as lilacs and apple trees. It's a beautiful place to spend time. If it's too cold to be outside, I like to sit in the rear bedroom as it has a huge window with a beautiful aspect over the greenery.

It's a family orientated area with a strong sense of community, everyone is on a first-name basis here. When our baby was born, there were visiting restrictions in place, so the neighbours called on us to see the baby by standing outside and waving to us through the window. Everyone is incredibly friendly and supportive - this is what makes life so enjoyable here - our neighbours have become our friends.
