We've lived in Gilesmead since 2013 and we'll be very sad to leave. All that Camberwell has to offer is right on the doorstep, from pubs, shops, takeaways and fantastic transport links. The flat is located between a set of really nice parks, which has been great for us with a dog and three kids. Brunswick Park has become a real community hub in recent years with the opening of a café there.
The flat feels more like a house, opening onto the walkway, with split level, and with a garden at the back. Despite being on Camberwell Church Street, the flat is back from the road and shielded by various buildings which means it's quite quiet. We've made a number of improvements to the flat in recent years (new kitchen, built in furniture, exposed brick work and new French doors) which make it quite a unique space.
What to expect from Gilesmead:
Gilesmead is well known in the area for being quite a special place. It seems to have been built with special care and consideration. The flats are really spacious and have a really cool lay out which allows a lot of flexibility in configuration. It has huge amount of character with wooden flooring upstairs and down. There's also lots of storage.
The block itself has a great sense of community and we've made life long friends among the neighbours. The communal gardens provide a lovely extension of the flat, and are a great spot for picnics and other gatherings. There have been various community gardening projects in recent years (still ongoing) which have made a number of really nice improvements.

We started in Gilesmead as two and are now five (plus the dog), so are looking for somewhere with a bit more space.
