We have really loved our time here on Ackroyd Road. The high ceilings and long hallway that connects everything means there is a lot of wall space to decorate and really make the place your own.
The flat faces south so the spacious living room catches the light through the large bay window and it's a great place to sit and relax, eat, and entertain guests.
The master bedroom also has a high ceiling which means the fitted wardrobe has enough space in it to store everything you need. The kitchen is newly fitted and has all the worktop space and storage you'd need. We freed up more space by creating a laundry nook in the gap under the stairs to hide away the washing machine.
The garden is incredibly low maintenance- There is plenty of greenery out there but it all tends to look after itself. Its a great space to sit and enjoy the local wildlife- cats, squirrels and even the odd parakeet.
We love the area just as much. It is a short walk away from the train station and its links to London Bridge and The London Overground route- ideal for our commutes to The City or Docklands. Crofton Park station is not too far away and goes to Blackfriars. There is even a night bus from the West End to the end of the Ackroyd Road should it be required!
The area has some great restaurants, cafes, shops and bars. The independent shops and greengrocer give the area its own 'village' feel. The award winning Babur is on the corner (keep an eye out for the tiger) and is highly recommended. The Chandos pub round the corner is a great place to grab a beer and pizza too. Le Querce is a great Sardinian restaurant that does its own ice cream. Our only regret is that we are leaving here before we've tried all the flavours.
