Why you'll like it:
The streets around Preston Circus, rising up the hill to meet Ditchling Road, have been hugely popular with families and professionals alike for many years, and it is easy to see why. This modern home sits on a particularly attractive tree-lined street which is tucked away from the hubbub of the city while remaining within easy walking distance of everything it has to offer. Both Brighton and London Road stations are under ten minutes on foot and the local schools are ofsted 'outstanding', so London buyers and locals alike flock to live here.

Set back from the road behind a neat drive, this house is one of a unique semi-detached pair. The exterior is immaculate in cream render and its canted bay windows with timber-framed double-glazing echo the Victorian homes along the street. Stepping inside, it is immediately clear this is a beautifully maintained and stylish home. First to the left is the living room, with warm wood flooring and white walls to suit all styles of furnishing. There is ample space for comfortable sofas and chairs in here, while the formal dining area is next door aside the kitchen.

Passing a deep storage cupboard for household items, the kitchen and dining room sit to the rear of the house with access to the garden. On-trend, the cabinets are cream gloss paired with teal brick tile splashbacks, and the solid oak worktops mirror the tone of the floor. While the dual ovens and gas hob are integrated, space has been left for a washing machine and a tall fridge freezer and there is plenty of storage at both base and wall levels.

New French doors open to the garden which becomes a lovely extension of the home during the warmer weather. It is nicely low-maintenance being paved, but sleeper beds are well-established with bamboos and other plants which add colour and shape all year round. South facing, it is a real sun trap during the summer, and it is surprisingly peaceful for somewhere so close to the city.

Upstairs, there are two lovely double bedrooms and a modern shower room. The principal room sits to the front of the house with a deep bay window and two fitted wardrobes which maximise the floor space. Bedroom two sits peacefully to the rear with far-reaching views and both have double glazed windows so you can always ensure a warm and restful night's sleep.

Agent's thoughts:
While this property has all the character of a Victorian home, it doesn't come with the same problems as an older property. This house is beautifully presented and has been really well maintained. With a stylish interior and a fantastic location for families and professionals alike, it is sure to be snapped up.

Owner's secret
"We have lived here very happily for the last 7-years with the schools close by and the city within easy walking distance. We love how quiet it is for a city centre property while also being hugely convenient for travel and the city shops. It's a lovely house for entertaining but also for relaxing after a long week – although the commute is made much easier being so close to the station. We no longer need the school catchment so we are moving out of the city, but we will miss it here."
