House For Sale £2,500,000
Greenside, Wrea Green, Lancashire PR4

Description
This exceptional five-bedroom home of over 6,300 sqft occupies a quiet position at the edge of Wrea Green in the heart of Lancashire’s Rural Fylde. Spanning three storeys, the architectural design takes an exacting approach to space and light and and employs a sophisticated material palette, including slate and limestone sourced from the Lake District. A large, heated swimming pool and fitness suite occupy the lower levels, opening directly onto private rear gardens and a series of tiered terraces.

The Tour

A visually arresting façade of natural stone and glass creates an impactful impression on approach. A private, enclosed driveway offers a generous provision of parking for several vehicles, and the primary entrance is positioned at the front of the house via a timber-clad bridge walkway.

The internal layout is conceived in plan on three levels, each seamlessly interlinked by concrete and glass stairwells. A pared-back material palette creates continuity throughout the interior, and the excellent quality of natural light is optimised at every opportunity. Full-height glass walls retain a consistent visual relationship with the outside space, with Velfac sliding doors opening onto terraces and balconies on each level.

Arguably the most impressive room in the house is the main living space on the first floor. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls frame far-reaching views across open fields to the rear, opening onto the wide, galleried terraces with views down onto the gardens. Glass walls frame views across the green to the front while inviting dramatic shards of light to filter in throughout the day. A suspended log burner creates a natural focal point.

The principal rooms at the ground floor level are arranged in a predominantly open plan, creating a natural flow and lending well to both entertaining and the daily routines of family life. Polished concrete runs underfoot, sensitively paired with Burlington slate walls, providing great textural appeal.

To the far right of the plan, and through a living area, is the open-plan kitchen/dining space. Light streams through a large full-length window at the side, electric opening vent windows and large Velfac aluminium bi-folding doors at the rear, which open onto the terrace.

In the centre of the room is a large minimalist island topped with Corian; an overhang allows for stools to be placed underneath, making for an open, sociable layout. Glass lies atop the SieMatic cabinetry, which runs along one wall; a sink has a Quooker tap. Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry complements the island and houses two multi-functional Miele ovens; an illuminated extractor is built above the kitchen island, adding a striking feature to the space. There is space for a large table and chairs.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a separate utility room that opens onto the terrace through glazed bi-fold doors. There is also a laundry room at the centre of the plan and a study to the front.

The principal bedroom suite is on the first floor, where a large picture window overlooks the xxx. Clad in marble, the en suite has full-height glazed doors that open onto a decked terrace. There is a large bath and a wet-room style shower area with an opaque glass door leading to the WC.

The house has four further en suite bedrooms—three lie on the lower-ground floor, one with an adjoining study. There is a guest suite on the ground floor, which opens onto a terrace.

On the lower-ground floor, a cinema room is replete with a projector and air-conditioning. A huge pool room with full-height glazing and doors houses the swimming pool, a cedar wood hot tub, a gym area and a changing/shower room.
