We bought this beautiful five-bedroom house about five years ago because we loved the contemporary design and the light and bright feeling that envelops you throughout the property. It has plenty of flexible accommodation and, with four en-suite bedrooms, there is never a queue for the bathroom. Outside there are a variety of places to sit and relax as well as being able to follow the sun all day. The location is delightful, as we are secluded from our neighbours and while we are only a stone's throw from the countryside for lovely walks we are also very close to Newport. However, we feel it is now time for us to downsize.
Newport is the county town of the Isle of Wight and includes a variety of high street stores and independent shops as well as a wide selection of restaurants and bars. There is a weekly street market and a farmers' market, and there are a number of primary and secondary schools within the vicinity. We are not far from the Shide Nature Reserve and the walks or cycle rides along the River Medina to Cowes or Sandown are a real pleasure, while Newport Golf Club is available for golfing enthusiasts. There are plenty of local attractions, including a museum, a roman villa and the quay arts centre, as well as the famous Carisbrooke Castle and Monkey Haven. A variety of annual events take place in the area, including the world-famous Isle of Wight festival and the boutique Eclectica festival at Robin Hill.
