Description

This is a fine example of a Grade II listed Medieval house dating from around 1500 and believed to have been extended around a hundred years later. It is set adjacent to a busy road and has no parking although this can be found in close by residential roads. The property abounds with period charm and character, offering a wealth of features including a superb inglenook fireplace, exposed beams and uprights, exposed brickwork and stone and more. It is thought it was originally the kitchen house for the manor, which explains the large fireplace. Please note there are low ceiling throughout most of the property.

The accommodation is arranged over two floors with the entrance at the side. The entrance door leads into the dining room with window to the side, stairs to the first floor and opening to the delightful sitting room with more beams and an impressive inglenook fireplace with exposed brickwork and an oak bressumer. The kitchen has a range of units with tiled work surfaces and twin inset circular sinks. Fitted hob and oven with space and plumbing for further appliances.

Upstairs there is a small landing with a linen cupboard and access to all rooms. The main bedroom is a spacious double with windows to front and rear and a deep walk-in cupboard. There are two further bedrooms plus a modern bathroom with a white suite of wc, washbasin and a bath with mixer taps and shower attachment.

Outside, the rear garden is a truly delightful feature of the property. It is westerly in aspect with a large area of lawn bordered by mature planting and hedging. There is a patio area across the rear of the house and side access leading to the front. There is a very useful separate outbuilding that offers a variety of potential uses including a home office, utility room, workshop or simply a 'garden room'. There is a 'gardeners wc' attached. At the far end of the garden there is a shed. The garden offers a good level of privacy and really is a little oasis bearing in mind how close you are to the town.
