A word from the owner...
"I came to London from South Wales in 1997 for work with a great amount of excitement along with a bucket full of intrepidation. I initially rented a flat in Walthamstow but soon realised that I loved the area and it was time to buy. The daily street market on the high street was in full flow, and the buzz of the village was in it's infancy, but even back then I could see that things were on the move; and in the right direction. For me, quick easy access into the City for work and the West-end for pleasure were essential and the location of the property was ideal. Just a 2 minute walk (if that) to Walthamstow Central station made life easy for working in the City. It's just an 18 minute ride on the train (now part of the London Overground network) and another 2 minute walk from Liverpool Street Station the other end into the office. Home to desk in a jiffy. With just a 35 minute underground journey on the Victoria line into Oxford Circus made shopping and weekend entertainment a breeze after a busy week. So, I ended up buying this house in 2000. I remember viewing about 14 houses on one weekend but my heart was drawn to this house; it had a greatly calming feeling, you know, I had that gut feeling. The family were really nice and I shook on a deal the next day. The garden was completely overgrown then, but with a lot of back-breaking effort it became my little sanctuary (not to mention a great place to party in the summer with BBQ and friends). The house itself was a bit old fashioned for my taste, but with a bit of decorating I soon got it to the way I liked it. And now, all those years later the village has improved even further; it's got a great vibe with many bars and restaurants; even a new nursery being built at the end of the street and a great new cinema at the top of the high street. Everything you could want for on your door step."
