Within the Kessington district of Bearsden the pre-war properties built by the Southern Building Company are the most admired. Quality built and with great room sizes they have long been to the fore of the Bearsden property market.
Originally an all on the level home this Semi-Detached House had first floor accommodation added, decades ago, to make it a larger two-level property. Our clients purchased the house in 2019 and then embarked upon a significant programme of upgrading and re-modelling the layout – most significantly this included creating that key family space of a large open plan kitchen/living/dining room, to the rear of the house from a group of previously three individual rooms, together with a utility room and ground floor shower room. The staircase to the first floor was re-positioned, renewed, and made far better. Throughout much has been replaced/renewed the result of which is a hugely impressive and rather spacious home providing all the character of its exterior façade with all the appeal and convenience of a very modern interior.
Nearly all the improvements and alterations were undertaken and completed in 2021. This has included the creation and fitting of the open plan dining/living/kitchen and the forming of the utility and shower room. The central heating system was installed and includes a ‘wet’ underfloor heating system in the above rear area of the house. The boiler is an efficient Worcester Greenstar 8000 condensing combination boiler, all controllable by a Nest digital thermostat which can also be operated remotely by a smart phone.
