With space to host up to six guests, it is a fantastic choice for families or groups of friends to gather together and enjoy a staycation to remember!

The Space

Anchorage Way benefits from a generously spacious living room. You can retreat here after a busy day at the beach and unwind on either of the two sofas in front of the TV with the whole house.

Head to the kitchen and you’ll be able to prepare home cooked meals in the fully equipped kitchen and enjoy them with your loved ones at the dining area, or even out of the decking for some cheeky home-done al fresco. Fully equipped with modern appliances, you’ll have everything you need to make the most of your self-catering staycation.

The property has three bedrooms; the ideal setup for families! The master bedroom features a king size bed, the second room a double, and the third room has a bunk bed. You have ample storage space for all your bits-and-bobs in the larger bedrooms with wardrobes, drawers and bedside tables; meanwhile you can soothe your eyes with the tasteful blue and white colour scheme meant to make it reminiscent of the ideal seaside sabbatical you can enjoy here. The master bedroom also boasts its own en-suite with a shower, wash basin and WC.

Modern in style, the family bathroom features a bathtub with overhead shower, WC and basin. There is also a separate downstairs toilet available for your use.

Neighborhood

Anchorage Way is located in a peaceful housing estate, within walking distance of Whitby town centre.

On the west side of town is where you can discover cosy pubs, fun arcades and even more fish restaurants! Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.

Head over the swing bridge and you’ll be able to walk along Church Street and you’ll wind up at the East bank where you’ll find narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around

The centre of Whitby is a short 14-minute walk from Anchors Down.

Whitby train station is less than a mile away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Guests looking to explore the local area on foot and by bike will be well located at Anchorage Way. The cinder track, which runs between Whitby and Scarborough via Hawsker and Robin Hood's Bay can be accessed just 2-minutes away from the property. Guests will also be able to walk to Ruswarp along this route.
