Baldock is an attractive town historically founded by the Knights Templar (also the name of the town's secondary school) as a medieval market town in the 1140s. The town stands just off the A505 with Junction 9 on the A1(M) (southbound) being only 2.4 miles away and Junction 10 (northbound) even closer at 1.8 miles.
