local area: The village of Langford is of Saxon origin and lies on the East bank of the river Ivel and enjoys picturesque riverside walks. On the West bank of the river lies part of the Ivel Valley countryside project namely, Henlow Common and the 47 acre Langford nature reserve.

The village has a well regarded local school (Langford lower school). Secondary education is either in Biggleswade or a number of private schools such as Bedford Modern and Bedford Girls School.
