House For Rent £1,395
Driffield, Cirencester GL7

Description
A charming and well-presented 2 double bedroom cottage with a separate 1 bedroom annexe situated to the edge of this pretty rural village with little through traffic, yet only a short drive to Cirencester and easily accessible from the A419 Cirencester to Swindon M4 link.

Available immediately and for a long let if desired, the cottage has been updated throughout in recent times but retains many charming character features including the exposed beam ceilings and beautiful solid wood floors to the ground floor.

The property further benefits from an attractive and well-appointed, dual aspect kitchen diner with an ample range of bespoke hand-painted storage units topped with eye-catching wooden work surfaces. The kitchen includes a double oven cooker, integrated fridge and dishwasher, whilst a homely log burner set within the exposed Cotswold stone fireplace provides a perfect complement to the gas-fired central heating system.

In addition, there is a good-sized sitting room - also benefitting from a dual aspect and lovely wood flooring, whilst upstairs the cottage features a generous master bedroom alongside a further double bedroom and a family bathroom including bath with handheld attachment.

Heating is supplied via a gas-fired central heating system feeding radiators and Gigaclear ultrafast fibre broadband is also available to connect and ideal whether for streaming entertainment or home working.

Outside, there is off-road driveway parking and a pretty courtyard garden with access to a useful utility /boot room - with sink and plumbing for laundry, as well as a separate annexe comprising a double bedroom with en-suite wet room but also offering flexibility as a hobby room or home office perhaps?

Available immediately, we would urge an early viewing to avoid disappointment.

close to home:

Driffield is a pretty and unspoilt village that lies amidst open farmland approximately 3 miles to the south east of Cirencester.

Driffield village itself was first cited in the Doomsday Book of 1086 and in almost 1,000 years since, the village has only doubled in size. Still surrounded by miles of working land farmed by the residents, it has retained a tranquillity and friendly sense of Cotswold community.

The nearest main settlement is Cirencester, itself a beautiful market town (often referred to as the Capital of the Cotswolds) and with a deep routed history dating back to the Romans when in 200AD it was recorded as the largest settlement in the country outside of London. With Cheltenham and Swindon both close at hand for commuting, Cirencester has remained a popular town with its excellent range of shops, galleries, bars and restaurants.

The town offers 5 super marketing including Waitrose, M&S Food and Tesco, along with a good selection of smaller convenience stores where you can pick up everything you need. A number of craft markets and antique fairs take place throughout the year as well as a weekly street market and regular farmers market.

Social and sports activities are plentiful in the town and surrounding area with many active clubs and societies. The Cotswold leisure centre offers plenty of sporting facilities and opportunities with two swimming pools, a gym and a sports hall. The gym offers the latest fitness equipment whilst the sports hall has six courts for a range of sports including badminton, five-a-side football and basketball.

Within a short drive or cycle ride is the Cotswold Water Park with its many water-based sport and leisure activities as well as a large number of equestrian opportunities and nature walks. This rich tapestry of typically English countryside is part of Britain's largest designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with a spectacular landscape laced with a labyrinth of walkways, bridle paths and hidden treasures, perfect for gentle weekend rambles and fabulous days of exploring for the whole family.

Cirencester and the surrounding villages offer very good state schooling opportunities for children of all ages, from reception to completing 'A' levels. There is also an excellent selection of independent schools in the surrounding area including Rendcomb College, Hatherop Castle Preparatory School, The Kings School Gloucester as well as Westonbirt and Beaudesert Park Schools, not forgetting the well-regarded Pates Grammar school and Ladies' College in Cheltenham.

For those interested in country pursuits the general area provides many lovely walks and excellent riding country, hunting with the vwh and Beaufort Hounds, Polo at Cirencester Park, National Hunt racing at Cheltenham, Newbury and Bath.

Additional sporting venues include Premiership rugby at Bath, Bristol and Gloucester, first class cricket at Bristol and the annual Cheltenham cricket festival is held in July. There is golf at nearby South Cerney or further afield at Cirencester Golf Club, Shrivenham or Minchinhampton Clubs.

The nearest regional centres are Swindon and Cheltenham although Bath, Bristol, Gloucester and Oxford are also within daily commuting distance. Kemble Station (London Paddington 55 minutes approx.) is about 8 miles distant and the property is conveniently located for the A417 for dual carriageway access to the M5 at Gloucester or the M4 at Swindon.
