We bought this house and have thoroughly enjoyed renovating it over time. We have been very careful to update everything but keeping the essence of the period even using the appropriate coloured Farrow and Ball paints and locating replacement cast iron radiators. The location is perfect as it is only a minute to the 2 Blue Flag beaches and even closer to the local shops, restaurants and cinema. However it is now too big for our needs and we are looking to downsize.

Westgate is also a very friendly community with a village like atmosphere. It has a unique parade of individual canopied shops and cafes including the renowned Staple Stores bakery as well as the Hot Wood Pizza and Quince restaurants. There is also an excellent and inexpensive cinema, a golf course and a mainline station with the high speed train to London. For those who enjoy cycling there are a number of routes including part or all of the 32 mile stretch of coastline from Ramsgate to Reculver via the Viking Coastal Trail. There are also two very good secondary schools in the area as well as a number of well-respected primary schools while road links are excellent with access to the Thanet Way for Canterbury and London.
