The Round Foundry development is a mixed use scheme in Holbeck urban village. Origionally built in 1795, it was developed to become the world's first specialist engineering foundries. A fire struck in the 19th century and most of the original buildings were destroyed, leaving only 7 listed buildings standing. After a GBP30 million redevelopment the area has now become a working and residential hub of life with bars, restaurants and cafes set in a number of courtyards. As well as being a ten minute walk from the city centre and train station. Neighbours include The Midnight Bell, The Cross Keys and The Foundry. The area is home to a concentration of creative and technology businesses.
