Owners comments

“The location is wonderful. Even though it’s in the heart of Didcot, you feel like you’re in a rural hamlet - helped by the lovely community who live on the street.

But strolling into town, or catching a train to London or Bristol, only takes 10 mins.

The house itself is a proper win-win - we love that it feels like a rustic olde cottage, without any of the damp, mustiness or inconveniences you might expect. The big iron bolts on the front door are particularly dramatic, especially when you unlock them for unsuspecting posties.

We’ve spent the past 10 years adding a touch of Scandi design, plus new windows all around, a new kitchen and boiler and even an electric vehicle charging point.

The garden is big enough for entertaining (we’ve had a kid’s party with 40 guests), but easy enough to keep under control. We’ll miss mulberry picking, straight from the tree. Above the garage is a guest bedroom and ensuite, so you can host the inevitable stream of visitors.

The wine cellar is a lovely ‘nice to have’ and the snug is just that, especially on the cold dark winter Didcot nights with the fire going.

A glorious place to live your best country life, while keeping cities just close enough.”
