"I started looking for a flat to buy in summer 2018. I set myself a budget and started sifting through Rightmove & Zoopla. I was quite familiar with the Tooting and Streatham area and centred my search around these locations. Initially I wanted a two bedroom flat but quickly realised I would have to severely compromise to achieve this. Even for a one bedroom flat, the majority of properties weren't ticking many boxes (I viewed over 20).
As soon as this flat landed on Rightmove, I was there to view it that day. I loved the wood floor, the generous bedroom and the bright living room. The location was also perfect, right on the edge of Tooting Common, within walking distance of the tube, but far enough away that it still felt quiet and peaceful. I made an offer that day and within a few months we had moved in!
My (now) wife and I have loved living at the flat. Even though it's a one bedroom flat, it has never felt small (even during lockdown!). We have fully redecorated and made improvements such as putting up many shelves for additional storage.
It is great to have such a large living room where you can have a proper dining table and also have a desk to allow for working from home. Having a separate kitchen adjacent to the living space works well when you are entertaining but also means you can close the door to hide the washing up!
We have loved using the swimming pool and garden in the warmer months; it's so nice to be able to invite friends round for a BBQ. There are loads of great bars and restaurants within walking distance in Tooting Broadway and on Streatham Hill, but on days when you don't want to venture that far there is an amazing pizzeria called Naked Loaf 5 minutes walk away (honestly the best pizza we've ever had).
We moved down to Somerset for work at the start of 2022 and have now decided that we would like to stay here. We have nothing but great memories of living in this flat, which was our first home together, and we will certainly miss it when it is sold".
A couple of other things of note:
The building was recently connected to super fast fibre broadband from Community Fibre, which has made a huge difference.
The boiler is in great working order and we have serviced it each year.
