House For Sale £425,000
Altringham Road BS5

Description
"We moved to Altringham Road when we were expecting our first child. We fell in love with the location right by St George park and a five-minute walk from Church Road. We wanted a Victorian home and could see the potential of this unassuming two-up-two-down.

Over the years as our family has grown we’ve completely renovated the house moving the bathroom upstairs, opening up the back extension and putting in large windows to let in as much light as possible. Finally, we added the most beautiful loft room with views over Bristol. I’ve always loved interiors having completed a course, I designed many of the features in the house myself and thought about how we wanted the house to feel warm and light. We’ve added storage space wherever we can to maximise the space.

However, the best bit about living here is overwhelmingly our amazing neighbours and community. Our children attend Whitehall school and have grown up with many of the children we met in the park when they were babies. We are spoiled for green spaces with St George park two minutes away, Troopers Hill and Eastvale park just fifteen minutes' walk away. We also often go on family bike rides down to the river or into the countryside by Warmly. Church Road is so convenient with brilliant local shops and cafes we couldn’t ask for a better area to call home."

Altringham Road is situated in Whitehall, in the East of the City. One of the city’s most popular parks, St George’s park is a wonderful place including a cafe, a skate park, and a lake. Across the park is Church Road with The Bristol Loaf bakery, The Red Church pub and Poco Deli, to name just a few favourites a stone's throw away. A little bit further is the amazing view at Trooper’s Hill and the River Avon for walks, or Old Market for more shops and cafes. Head out in the other direction across Whitehall Road and you’re at the cycle path in just a few minutes. It’s great for traffic-free walks or bike rides to the harbour. Across the cycle path is Easton with even more pubs, cafes, and the brilliant St Mark’s Road with the delicious Thali restaurant, and Sweetmart for groceries and any spice you can think of. Beyond that is the big green space of Eastville Park and Snuff mills for a tree-lined river walk. There are several well-regarded schools in the area, meaning this is a popular area with families. For commuters, the area is a short journey into Bristol City Centre by bus, bike or car, whilst also being just a short drive from Bath and the motorway networks as well. From this side of the City Centre, Bristol Temple Meads is just a short journey away.

Nestled into Altringham Road, part of a number of roads that line St George’s Park, is this fully extended, beautiful three bedroom Victorian home. Upon entry, you are met by a hallway that leads through to the front reception room that has a new column radiator, bespoke fit shelving to one side of the chimney breast, alongside an understairs cupboard. To the back of the property, there is a large kitchen-dining room, with a u-shaped kitchen in the heart of the home, with fully integrated appliances, solid woodwork surfaces, open shelving, as well as pendant lighting between the two spaces. The dining space has two substantial skylights that flood the room with light and bifold doors at the end that opens up onto a west-facing garden that captures the afternoon and evening sun. The first floor comprises two double bedrooms, with the larger of the two having plywood flooring, alongside a bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead. The current vendors have put a significant amount of work into making the second floor ideal for modern living, with the ceiling height being lowered on the first floor to improve the space. There are a couple of skylights and eaves storage space to your left as you walk up the stairs and to the otherside, there is the main bedroom that houses an ensuite and stunning windows with plywood surround that have views across Bristol.
