The land extends to 82 acres (33 ha) and
consists of three parcels of arable land
separated by woodland shaws and accessed
by internal tracks. It is classified Grade 3 on the
Agricultural Land Classification with shallow
lime-rich soils. The land is subject to a Farm
Business Tenancy (fbt) where notice has
been served to bring the tenancy to an end in
September 2023, and is currently farmed within
a cereal crop rotation as part of the tenant’s
wider holding.
The land at Freedown is accessed over a private
farm track from Ringwould Road; a road running
between Ringwould and Kingsdown. The land
is situated within the Kent Downs Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty, four miles to the
north east of Dover, two miles to the south of
Walmer and on the outskirts of the villages
of Kingsdown and Ringwould. The coastal
towns of Deal and Walmer offer a wide range
of amenities and transport links into London
and the South East. The proximity to Dover
provides the land with access to national and
international travel connections. Ringwould
Road provides access to the A258 Dover Road
which in turn provides access to the M20 and
M2 via the A20 and A2 respectively.
