Sellers insight We moved into this property 21 years ago, the house was attractive to us because it's a well built, bright house with a large garden in a cul de sac with no passing traffic and yet it is so close to the station (8 mins) and also to the M25. We can pop up to the town in a few minutes and yet in our back garden you'd think you were in the country with mature trees and peace and quiet.

The neighbours are lovely and friendly. We have everything from growing families to retirees and we all know each other. Everyone here really values our location and they all care about keeping the neighbourhood smart and their homes well maintained.

We raised 4 children here and they are all very welcome in the neighbourhood; its safe to play outside, there are other kids in the locale, schools are close and access to activities is easy.

This property, offered the best of locations, spacious, light rooms with large/bay windows and a big sunny garden. It also offered massive potential to extend, although we didn't get around to that before the kids moved on!

The house was built in 1957 as part of a very small development of similar homes. The previous owners (who had been here many years) extended beyond and above the garage to create a 4th bedroom and utility room and downstairs loo.
The next ideal owner is a growing family or a couple about to embark on family life. It would also suit a more mature couple who appreciate some extra space.

The changes we have made have been both cosmetic and functional. Inside we modernised with rewired electrics, uPVC windows/doors, kitchen with quartz surfaces, bathroom, new gas boiler, fireplace, re-plastered ceilings throughout, internal oak doors, chrome fittings throughout, Karndean flooring throughout downstairs. We also landscaped front and back gardens and added a new shed recently.

Our favourite room is our lounge diner - it's semi open plan with the kitchen and makes for a light airy family space with a double aspect to front and back garden. We are most proud of how much we have transformed a tired old property that had been uncared for to a modern home which sits comfortably inside a solid 1950s build with great features and a large secluded garden.

There have been several remarkable events, the most recent of which was to celebrate the late Queen's platinum jubilee when we joined with Downsland Drive to create a street party. We shut off the street, put up trestle tables, organised games for the younger kids and dressed up in red, white and blue - and had a few drinks! We've got form for this locally, any excuse for a party. We have hosted New Year's drinks at ours as have others.

Our local community (which is on a WhatsApp group) is quiet, friendly, helpful and we look out for each other in all ways and especially where those with ill health need support. We all care so much about keeping our homes and neighbourhood looking and feeling great. Neighbours are amazingly respectful and consultative about any work they're planning.

The reason for moving is that we want to follow a life long dream (now we are retired and our kids are all grown and have homes and lives of their own) to move to the Dorset coast and live by the sea.
