Location
The Doward Hills and Symonds Yat are found in the Wye Valley aonb, a location famed for phenomenal river scenery, woodland expanses and limestone cliffs.
Countless magnificent walks are just a stone's throw away, as is the Biblins swing bridge, which crosses the Wye, and this leads over to the Forest of Dean - giving access to thousands of acres of hikes through the wilderness.
The location is also home to several nature reserves which are unspoiled by any sound or light pollution and, as a result, reconnecting to nature - which is believed to provide numerous benefits to a person's health and wellbeing - is effortless in this setting.
There is a multitude of reputable riverside pubs and restaurants nearby which are exceedingly popular with residents and tourists alike and many delightful walking and cycle routes are dotted throughout the area. For those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, various companies offer a wide range of activities such as canoe hire.
Whitchurch, the closest village, is particularly sought after, partially owing to its Church of England Primary School which has been graded as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. There is also a community-spirited village shop, Woods of Whitchurch, which also operates as a coffee shop and takeaway.
It is also worth noting that excellent transport links are close by. The A40 is around one mile away and the eastbound road provides a direct route to Gloucester, Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. Meanwhile, motorists heading in the opposite direction can journey towards the M4 at Newport, giving access to Cardiff and London. In addition, the M50 motorway begins in Ross-on-Wye around eight miles away and this gives good access to the M5 motorway - leading to Birmingham to the north and Bristol to the south.
