'What initially attracted me to the flat was its location. With Victoria Park just round the corner and Perrett's Park a short walk away, i've really enjoyed being so close to some of Bristol's best green spaces. It's also just a short walk to Temple Meads train station and Bristol City centre. However, despite the proximity to town, these streets in Totterdown are quiet - many visitors have noted how quiet it is when sitting in the garden.
Totterdown also has a number of independent suppliers. At the end of the street, The Sundial Kitchen is a great spot for brunch, as is Bank on Wells Road. The Shakespeare and The Oxford are nearby pubs, and much loved by us locals. I do the majority of my food shopping at The Banana Boat green grocers and The Bakehouse bakery, both of which are just around the corner. In many ways, you have everything you need just a stone's throw away!
However, of the many things I love about the flat and its location, what I will miss most is the garden. Before work, I sit on the balcony with my coffee and enjoy the morning sun. The garden has been a sanctuary for me when i've needed it, but it is also a great space for entertaining. The stand out feature is the 5 meter-long mosaic path, which was custom made by my partner, a Bristol-based mosaic maker. Regrettably, it's unmovable (and will likely out-last us all!) and so it will remain in the garden for the next owner to enjoy.
We've put so much of ourselves into this flat, it will be hard to leave, but the time has come, and I hope the next owner will love this flat just as much as I have.'
