We understand that house was first constructed in circa 1906 and was originally connected to Leavesden hospital, which is located just off College Road in Abbots Langley.

The property is set back from Woodside Road and offers what could be a useful outbuilding, which, once converted could be utilised as either a home office/annexe or the potential to develop into a separate dwelling, subject to planning permission.

A brief History of Coles Farm:
We understand that the property was originally purchased by Leavesden Hospital in the early 1920's as part of the large expansion of their farming operation. At this time, Coles Farm would have been referred to as the 'Home Farm' Dr H.R Stewart appears to have resided in the farm's cottage during his tenure as Head Superintendent from approximately 1926 until 1937. From 1939 the land was given back to the mod to support the war effort and returned to Leavesden Hospital in 1948. We understand that in 1955 the land now known as Coles Farm was sold and that the individuals who purchased it changed the name to Coles Farm as that may have been the family's surname.

Thanks go to Lynda Bullock, Chair West Watford History Group, who has assisted with the history of Coles Farm.
