The section of island is the southern section of an island that is dissected by Turvey Bridge, a Scheduled Monument on the west side of the village which forms the boundary between Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. In addition is a long thin ribbon of land that is approximately 470 yards long, with water on both sides and on both sides are a number of angling perches.
This is attached at the southern end to agricultural land and at the northern tip, by Turvey Sluice, a foot bridge connects to the riverbank where a private footpath then crosses a paddock to a style by the road at the start of Turvey Bridge.

These rights, which are owned and operated by the Sellers (The Rushden, Higham Ferrers and Irchester Angling Association) extend to:
270 yards of river bank,
250 yards adjoining the island
440 yards on the main river side of the long strip.
470 yards on the back stream side of the strip.
