Introduction & Exterior

This wonderful, detached home in the peaceful Staffordshire village of Hill Ridware will prove very popular to families seeking a large house for a long-term move. The house is set back from Uttoxeter Road on a generous plot that features generous front and rear gardens.

The front features lawns with shrubbery either side of a wide gravel driveway that can comfortably fit four cars on and leads up to the garage up-and-over door. The garage is a remarkable length, measuring thirty-three feet from the door to the rear wall and can easily fit another two cars in tandem. A door to the rear of the garage leads out to the rear garden decking. There are also gated passages on both sides of the house to pass between the front and back, ideal for removing garden waste without needing to go through the house.

The rear garden decking is also accessible from the utility room door and French doors leading from the conservatory. With the garage and conservatory protruding from the rear of the house, the decking is a lovely private space for the owners to place a range of outdoor furniture. From the decking the garden continues onto a lawn that spans the full width of the rear with shrubbery and trees to enhance the appearance and privacy. Wooden fencing is erected to the boundaries.

Ground Floor

Viewers enter the home via a recently installed, high quality, composite front door. This brings you into a generous hallway that is perfect for removing & storing coats and shoes. Immediately ahead is a guest WC with wash basin, an essential part of any modern-day home! From the hallway there are doors leading off to the lounge, kitchen, and study, as well as the carpeted winding staircase leading up to the first floor.

The lounge is an extraordinary reception room for relaxing and entertaining, especially as it has been opened out to include the dining room. The flooring is of an attractive wood-effect laminate and there is a beautiful open fireplace to the right-hand wall. The chimney is external and therefore takes nothing away from the vast amount of space available. The dining room comfortably fits a large family table to be positioned in front of a sliding patio door into the conservatory. The conservatory is so large that it acts as a fourth reception space (counting the large study as the third). The current owners utilise the conservatory as a family room with a sofa and piano currently in place and still plenty of room for other furniture. There is a ceiling fan and light and, as mentioned above, a set of French doors lead out to the decking.

From the dining room there is another door to access the kitchen. The integrated suite features lots of wall and base mounted units with roll top work surfaces. Part of the work surface space at the front of the room acts as a breakfast bar. Integrated appliances include an electric oven and hob with a retractable cookerhood extractor fan, and a dishwasher. There is a wide composite one-and-a-half sink and drainer positioned in front of the window looking over the garden. An opening from the kitchen leads through to a matching utility room that has more units, a circular sink with twin drainer and spaces for a washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge-freezer.

The final room on the ground floor is the study. This room is currently used a music room for the family and holds a sofa at present, thus making it another reception room, and has a wide window at the front to allow plenty of natural light, a feature noticeable throughout the house. It’s worth noting at this point that all external windows and doors are double glazed.

First Floor

One of the most impressive features in this home – and one that the current owners say swayed them to buy the home – is the fabulous gallery landing. There is so much wall space available for artwork and floor space for a furniture unit or small table. From the landing there are doors leading off to all four bedrooms, the family bathroom, and a handy storage cupboard. There is also a tach above with pull-down ladder to access the large loft space that is part boarded and fully insulated.

Out of the four bedrooms, three are doubles with the fourth being a generous L-shaped single room with enough space to fit a bed, wardrobe, and entertainment unit. The master bedroom includes two built in storage cupboards and access to an en suite shower room. As the shower cubicle is behind the door, it isn’t shown on the photos and the remainder of the suite features a toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.

The second bedroom is immediately behind the master and includes a wide, built-in wardrobe. It also has lovely countryside views out of the rear window. Bedroom three is at the front of the house and is another great sized double room, this time without any built-in storage but with plenty of space for the new owners to position their own.

Finally for the interior is the newly refitted family bathroom. This eye-catching suite includes stylish tiling to the floor and splash back areas of the walls. There is a wall mounted unit that supports a wash bowl, toilet unit, chrome heated towel rail and a trendy L-shaped bathtub with storm shower head.
