Our time at Sussex Lodge stretches back to when our children were small. It is a property that offers great versatility and adaptability. The easy access we have across the local area provides us with plenty to do and we love the community spirit in Cliffsend. There are many pleasant restaurants and pubs nearby where we often stop off after a beautiful clifftop walk or stroll on Pegwell Beach & Pegwell Nature Reserve both a few minutes walk from the house.
You immediately get a feel for the stature of this property from the outset as it is well set back from the road, with intercom wrought iron electric gates and fencing. We love the character of our home; the period features are visible from the outside and continue as you
set foot into the hallway. There is an abundance of flexible space with generously sized rooms, which make it both a welcoming family home and a great place to entertain. We have continued to update the house inside and out, having added an extension, a garage conversion and professionally landscaping the gardens.
The dining room, one of the sitting rooms and three of the bedrooms, one of which we use as an office/library, have magnificent sea views. The other two double bedrooms look onto our beautiful garden, meaning we can enjoy it both inside and out. There is plenty of space outside in the wrap around garden. We spend leisurely time in our gazebo as it is a spot where you can enjoy sunshine throughout the day and our large Indian sandstone terrace is a great space for entertaining family and friends.
We are making a move to be closer to our daughter and grandchildren, but we have loved everything about living here and we will miss our family home where we have made many happy memories.
