House For Sale £600,000
Norburton, Burton Bradstock, Bridport DT6

Description
This property is one of a number of bungalows built in the 1970s on the East side of the sought-after village of Burton Bradstock, famous for its lovely beach. The beauty of this property is not only its position at the end of a quiet backwater away from passing traffic and within a short walk to both shops and the beach, but also its condition. The property was refurbished approximately 12 years ago and has undergone a rolling programme of renewal and refurbishment during that time taking in the double glazing, the heating system complete with a gas Combi boiler, the kitchen with many integrated appliances and the bathroom.

The property is conventionally arranged with an entrance porch to the front of the property leading through to a central hallway, off which the principal rooms are accessed. To the left hand side, the main living room stretches from the front to the rear of the property and is centred around a stone fireplace with parquet flooring and, to one end, double doors out onto the terrace and gardens. The kitchen lies to the centre and rear of the property and is equipped with a comprehensive range of floor and wall mounted units and cupboards, with integrated appliances that include an electric oven, a gas hob with extractor fan over, a fridge, a freezer and a dishwasher, with the floor laid to ceramic tile. A door leads out to the rear terrace and garden. There are three good bedrooms, one of which has been used as an office, all served by a bathroom that is fully tiled with a p-shaped bath with shower over.

To the front of the property there is a driveway laid to a hardstand that provides parking for a number of cars and access to a single garage that is equipped with an up and over door, light and power. To one side of the driveway there is a formal lawn with a lovely weeping Pear to its centre and a Cherry tree to one corner. Along the right-hand side a path leads down to a gated side entrance. To the rear of the property a terrace runs the width of the house and makes an ideal sitting out area, with steps up to the garden that is for the most part laid to lawn, edged by herbaceous and shrub planting. To the centre of the lawn there is a paved terrace that allows the sun to be taken in until the end of the day, with the whole garden enclosed by well-maintained timber fencing.

The village of Burton Bradstock is considered to be one of the most attractive villages in West Dorset, and consists largely of period stone and thatched cottages. The village has a primary school, church, shops, post office, several pubs and cafés, library, children’s park and a late-night garage/shop. The beach and coastal path are just a short walk away. Nearby Bridport is a bustling market town, with a variety of independent shops, supermarkets, public houses and restaurants catering for a range of tastes and excellent arts and music events. Bridport is conveniently placed for Dorchester and Weymouth to the east and Axminster to the west. Walking, water sports and riding opportunities are plentiful in the area. There is a good choice of schooling in the area. Communication links are good with road links along the A35 and mainline stations at Maiden Newton, Dorchester and, Axminster.
