House For Rent £2,500
High Street, Bosham, Chichester, West Sussex PO18

Description
Oysters is set in an amazing position, perched on the quayside in the very heart of Bosham, and has probably the best views of the harbour, either at high tide when the water laps against the sea wall, or at low tide with water fowl and wildlife interest. Comments from many of the guests that have stayed at the house include that at high tide the sun uniquely illuminates the house so feels as if one is afloat and sailing. All the principal rooms face the harbour and have lovely large picture windows.

This intriguing home is perfect as a full time or holiday home, and is very close to Bosham Sailing Club and the well renowned Anchor Bleu pub and has three double bedrooms, a lovely 27 ft sitting room, kitchen/breakfast room with Aga and two bathrooms. Outside is a fabulous south westerly terrace, perfect for watching the setting sun, and the comings and goings on the harbour yet being well-screened provides privacy where needed. There are two entrances, one at the side onto the terrace, whilst high tide access is available along a wide twitten at the rear allowing boat and dingy access through double gates, with good adjacent gear storage.

The house would benefit from some refurbishment and will make a fabulous home allowing a discerning purchaser to create their own designs and dreams.

The property is located in the centre of the village, on the ancient High Street, and within a few hundred yards of the popular sailing club and Anchor Bleu pub. Bosham itself has become one of the premier centres for sailing with a multitude of moorings for boats and yachts, and has a fascinating history, with the chancel of its Saxon church featured in the Bayeux Tapestry. The village also has a primary school, two pubs and a very popular hotel/restaurant, tea rooms and an arts and crafts centre, whilst a little further to the north there is a well-stocked farm shop and sub post office, medical centre and bakery. Sailing is the premier past time in the immediate area, but other recreational activities are well catered for, including a number of golf courses, wind surfing and bathing from the beaches at the Witterings and the South Downs National Park just to the north, providing thousands of acres of riding and walking countryside. In addition to these, Goodwood is perhaps best known for its race course but also provides a country club and has become increasing well known for its annual Festival of Speed and Revival of its historic motor circuit. Chichester city centre is particularly well known for its cultural activities centred around the 12th century Cathedral and annual Festivities.
