House For Sale £2,500,000
Burstock Road, London SW15

Description
This immaculate five-bedroom end-of-terrace house in Putney has been extensively renovated in recent years. The current owners have carefully extended the building at the rear of the plan to create a vast open-plan kitchen and living space framed by rolled steel joists and floor-to-ceiling glazing with views across the east-facing garden. The home is characterised by a warm material palette of brass, oak and exposed brick, which seamlessly interplay with bold paint colours used throughout. Above the garage lies a separate secret annexe with a kitchenette and bathroom.

The Tour

The house is set back from the road behind a smart paved driveway with a designated off-street parking spot for one car and an electrical charging point. Its striking graphic façade complements the aluminium-framed double-glazed windows, which have been painstakingly replaced throughout.

The front door opens onto a spacious cloakroom area, currently configured as an office and snug, with plenty of built-in storage for coats and shoes. This seamlessly leads to the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, punctuated with multiple skylights and a palpable sense of volume care of a double-height section of the ceiling. The shaker-style kitchen, with bold midnight blue cabinetry, sits to the left. A large island with brass worktops and fixtures cleverly divides this area from the rest of the room. There is a six-burner cooker by Smeg and an integrated wine fridge.

At the rear, large glazed doors illuminate the space and slide open to reveal a luscious garden. This area of the house is orientated to the east, receiving the best of the morning light. White-washed walls, some of which are exposed brick, chime harmoniously with the oak herringbone floorboards warmed by underfloor heating.

A staircase ascends to the first floor, where three well-proportioned bedrooms and a spacious family bathroom lie. The largest of the three, which sits at the front of the plan, has been painted a moss green in contrast to the graphite used on the interior woodwork. There is also a smart en suite with a walk-in shower, matt black fixtures and polished plaster walls. Original floorboards painted white flow throughout this level.

The second floor is given over entirely to the primary suite; the bedroom is finished with polished plaster walls and turquoise cabinetry. A smart walk-in wardrobe offers plenty of storage, and a separate en suite is replete with marble tiles.

Off the snug, at the front of the plan, is a neat WC. Cleverly hidden within here is a secret door, opening onto a striking spiral staircase, which ascends to an annexe positioned over the garage. Beams overhead have been exposed and white-washed, and the space's dual aspect configuration allows for an excellent quality of natural light. A kitchenette lies in the corner, and there is an en-suite shower room where small terracotta tiles lie underfoot. Currently configured as a bedroom, this room could easily be transformed to a private home-office.

From the ground floor of the plan, a staircase leads to the cellar with a useful utility room.

Outdoor Space

At the rear of the house is a wonderful east-facing paved garden, which catches the morning sunlight. Leading from glazed doors lies a neat decked area with ample space for a table and chairs. Swathes of green foliage hang over the brick rear wall and fence, which enclose the space creating a private, peaceful enclave. There is a useful shed tucked into the corner for storage.

Burstock Road is a few minutes walk from the shops, restaurants and transport facilities of Putney High Street.
