Sellers Story

When we needed to relocate from Essex in 2016, we searched the Rugby area and stumbled by accident across the Coton House development and instantly fell for its tree-lined driveway and heritage parkland surroundings. The house we selected within the 'walled garden' section of the development didn't disappoint, with all the benefits of modern materials, technology and fittings but in a characterful setting of mature trees and historic buildings - a rare combination these days. On top of all that we appreciated the easy access to rail and road links and the excellent schools in Rugby.

Our favourite part of the house has to be the garden room, off the kitchen and dining area, where we have spent summer Sunday afternoons with the doors opened on to our, now maturing, garden with the majestic trees in the background, and snowy winter evenings around the log burner with friends and family. The impressive space of the open plan kitchen has hosted many an extended family gathering, and even a local choir rehearsal!

The Coton House estate has a genuine community feel about it. It always feels safe to walk around at any time of day or night (whether you have a dog or not!) and anyone passing has a word or a wave. There is a real sense of a village community in which neighbours look out for each other and help out where needed. Even through the days of lockdown when the grounds-keepers were not able to work, the residents seemed to draw closer as each of us did our bit in maintaining the grounds.

We will certainly miss the spacious rooms with their high ceilings in this fine, characterful home, as well as watching the squirrels, hedgehogs and varied bird species in the garden. But now is the time for us to move on as our children leave home to pursue their own lives, and we really hope that a new family will move in and enjoy this house and its gorgeous surroundings.
