Historical Background
In 1656 Mrs Anne Doddington, daughter of Henry Wallop, built the School House and created an endowment for the benefit of the parish of Cliddesden, that still exists to this day. The property has been in the same ownership of Lord Portsmouth, the Wallop family and the Cliddesden Educational Trust from 1656 to 1997 when it was sold to the current owners.
