Sellers insight We have lived in our house for sixteen years. We knew from the moment we saw it this was the home that we wanted to buy.This was our first house and felt it was the right choice to start a family in.

The décor wasn't to our taste but we saw through that. We liked how light and spacious the house was and it has several accesses to the garden which is great in the summer when the kids want to play outside as you can see them from anywhere in the house.

We were attracted to this house because of its great location and quiet neighbourhood. We are within walking distance of a country park, Lake Meadows which has a swimming pool, lake and a great kids play area, schools. The High street and most importantly for us the station being within close proximity as we both work in London.

We also loved that the house is in a quiet area and its position means that we don't really have anyone that overlooks us.

We are very lucky to have very friendly neighbours who are very happy to take in deliveries and who look out for each other, going to the shop on a neighbours behalf if they are unable to. We have had street parties celebrating the Queen's jubilee and will always congregate outside for a chat on the way back from school runs or dog walks.

I would tell other parents that this the perfect house to live in if you have kids. We are close to 2 primary schools and a secondary school. We have a small park at the end of our rod which has just been refurbished and a 5-10 min walk to Lake Meadows which is a large park in the centre of Billericay. Lots of families live in the area and you will often cross paths either on the school run or at the numerous kids clubs in the town.

We both work in London and so commuting is very important to us. You can walk to the station in 20 mins and travel to London in 25-30 minutes. There are also many local buses that go from the station. It is a prime location to get around the local area and beyond.

Our daughter's friend's grandparents were the first people to buy our house and so we have seen pictures of this house being built. The house has changed a lot, the biggest change before we moved in was the extending of the garden by moving the fence making the front garden slightly smaller and increasing the size of the back garden. Since we have lived in the house we have built an orangery at the back and turning it into a kitchen diner. We have also put 2 sets of double doors on the back of the lounge to bring more light into the house and bringing more of the outside in.

We think the ideal next owners would be either a couple thinking about starting a new family or a young family. The house is very modern with it all being recently painted and a new decking area to entertain out the back.

Our favourite room has to be the Orangery as making it more modern and the space more user friendly. We now eat a lot more as a family.

Our most memorable moment is having our engagement party here, opening up the patio doors and having lots of friends and family round to celebrate.

Billericay is a lovely town with lots going on for those that want to join in such as walking and running groups, fitness and endless children's groups but also lots of quiet spaces if that what you prefer. People will often say hello when you walk past them especially if you are out for a walk.

We are sad to leave our house especially as we have made so many improvements in the last couple of years, our favourite being the kitchen/diner, but now feel its time for our next move. We love the area so much we won't be moving very far.
