House For Sale £535,000
Shaftesbury Avenue, Montpelier, Bristol BS6

Description
“This has been our home since 2011 and we have loved being right in the heart of Bristol. Everything you need is on your doorstep - Picton Street is just around the corner, with Bianchi's restaurant, the Bristolian café and a great organic veg shop. Stokes Croft is only a short walk away with many more cafes and bars, pubs and clubs (that we used to frequent more regularly before we had children!) and St Werberghs city farm is close by too. Most importantly, Shaftesbury Avenue feels like a community. It’s the sort of street where everyone knows each other’s name and you know you can knock on someone’s door if you need to borrow a tool.

Our house has always felt like a haven away from the bustle of the city. In the winter, we light the wood burner to stay cosy. And in the summer, the south-facing garden turns into the Mediterranean and we spend most of our time out there. It’s great to be able to get out of the city quickly, with connections to the M32, M5 and the M4 – we have enjoyed many camping trips in Wales. We will miss this area hugely but are now looking for more space as our family grows."

Shaftesbury Avenue is a fantastic position within Montpelier, close to St Pauls, Cotham and Stokes Croft. Residents of this immediate area are within easy reach of shops, bars and cafés of Cheltenham Road and Gloucester Road. All within a short walk, The Bristolian, Café Kino and The Crafty Egg offer a range of cafe options, whilst local pubs such as The Cadbury and The Star and Garter serving great Bristol beer from nearby Bristol breweries. For commuters, the area is extremely well placed for a short walk or cycle into Bristol City Centre. Buses run frequently along the A38 and train transport is available across the city and to Bristol Temple Meads via nearby Montpelier train station. For those looking for access to green space, the house is just a short walk from St Andrews Park and the Narroways Nature Reserve in St Werburghs, whilst getting out to the country via the nearby M32 or Temple Meads train station is also straightforward.

This charming three bedroom family home offers a beautiful downstairs open-plan space, extended to the rear to allow a wider kitchen/diner area than many along the road. With an eye for interior design and a careful attention to detail, the owners have create a brilliant style and ambience at this home. During 2020, they also did more extensive work to upgrade the home, updating bathrooms, kitchen, flooring and the garden. The house has several appealing features for the new owner to benefit from, like the woodburner to the front room, column radiators and period style fireplaces in the bedroom. The rear garden has a southerly aspect, which also brings plenty of light into the kitchen/dining area through the double doors and skylight in the extension to the rear.
