General Information
‘Greenacres’ is situated in the sparsely populated community of Quendale at the very southern tip of Shetland approximately 24 miles from Lerwick. The location is convenient for access to Sumburgh airport and air transport to mainland Shetland, and a feeder bus service connects with the main Lerwick - Sumburgh bus route several times a day.

Local amenities in the area are clustered about two miles away at Dunrossness on the main Lerwick - Sumburgh road where Mainland’s mini-supermarket, post office & filling station can be found along with the area’s primary school. Secondary school is at Sandwick or Lerwick.

Just along the road from the house, within reasonable walking distance, is the historic Quendale Mill which houses a small museum, and beyond that lies the beautiful Bay of Quendale and its long sandy beach, whilst a track close to the house leads up to the spectacular cliffs of Fitful Head. Slightly further afield, there is a hotel at Sumburgh and a marina at the Pool of Virkie.
