House For Sale £4,600,000
Tite Street, London

Description
A Historic Street
Tite Street was laid out in 1877 and has a rich history of interesting residents from the arts in particular. Whistler commissioned an artist’s studio and many other famous artists lived and worked in the neighbouring studios including John Sergeant and Augustus John. Consequently many public figures were painted here.

Oscar Wilde was another famous resident at No.34 where he was well known for hosting fabulous parties. Ironically his trial judge was also a neighbour. More House (No.52) was built for artist John Collier and was later occupied by Clement Freud and Anthony Lambert. The composer Peter Warlock lived at No.30.

One of the remaining legacies of the artistic history of this location is the Sketch Club, found on Dilke Street, just off Tite Street close to the river.

No.1 Tite Street is a handsome house with architecture that delivers a rare balance of width and volume. Facing south west, it has wonderful light, with a view across a broad and low-rise street.

The ground floor double reception room has lovely ceiling heights (almost 3m) and a Juliette balcony overlooking the garden. Stairs pass a guest cloakroom down to a wonderful lower ground floor arranged either side of a wide galley kitchen with a large family reception room to the front and a conservatory/dining room with folding doors that open onto the garden for an indoor/outdoor atmosphere.

The first floor comprises the principal bedroom which has a large en suite, fitted wardrobes and large sash windows that open onto a full-width balcony with wonderful views to the south west.

There is a shower room on the half landing that serves bedroom 2, with wonderful light and views as well as bedroom 3 on the second floor. The third floor has a largely vaulted ceiling of 3.4m and two further equal sized double bedrooms and a family bathroom.

The kitchen has folding doors that completely open onto the garden which is east and south facing and make a wonderful indoor/outdoor living space.

There is also a full-width balcony on the first floor.

Situated at the northern end of Tite Street, just off Tedworth Square, the house is quietly situated close to the communal gardens of Burton Court, which has tennis courts (by separate arrangement), a designated dog areas and is close to both the Kings Road and Sloane Square.

Pavilion Road, next to Peter Jones and Sloane Square, has been stunningly redeveloped by Cadogan Estate and provides a wonderful village-like array of boutique shops, restaurants and suppliers; from Granger, to butchers, bakery's, and cheese shops, Pavilion Road has become one of the most sought after commercial streets off Sloane Square.
