Highdown House

House For Sale £2,000,000
Pick Hill, Horam, Heathfield, East Sussex, TN21

Description
A fine compact country estate in a wonderful rural setting.

Description

Approached from a long secluded driveway, this fine detached character house has arts and craft styling, although part of the house itself is thought to be much older and there has been a later annexe extension, with the accommodation linked to the main house on both floors.

Features of note include the fine staircase with mahogany hand rail and galleried landing, the country-style pine kitchen with a traditional Aga, and the beamed ceilings to the principal reception rooms, one of which has an intriguing recessed inglenook style fireplace, fitted with a wood burning stove.

The house is generally well presented and provides spacious accommodation, which might be updated by an incoming purchaser over a period of time. The annexe has a lovely private terrace away from the main garden and would be ideal for a relative, nanny or an older teenager.

The charming detached two bedroom cottage has a modern fitted kitchen and has been successfully let for the last seven years, being far enough away from the main house to be used independently, or as a base for long-term guests or extended family.

For those who need to work from home, both the house and the cottage benefit from the availability of BT fibre broadband.

The wonderful gardens and grounds are very secluded with mature screening to the boundaries and with many fine specimen trees to the lawned areas.

The woodland is a delight, with a swathe of bluebells in the spring and a beautiful lake, offering huge potential for landscaping.
