Directions - On entering St Austell from Truro on the A390, turn left towards the China Clay Museum onto the B3274. Drive straight over the two sets of traffic lights, follow the road sharply round to the left and drive out of the town passing under the railway viaduct. Drive up through the valley and Ruddlemoor. Pass the entrance to Wheal Martyn Museum and Country Park on the left and the entrance to Carthew Farm will then immediately be seen on the left-hand side where there is a wide cut granite splayed and pillared entrance. Drive up the hill, pass the waterwheel on the left and continue to the top of the hill. Bear to the right and continue onto the stone lane beyond the gate.
