House For Rent £7,000
Mill House, Radford, Oxfordshire

Description
The Mill House is a grade II listed property which has recently undergone a major year-long renovation project. It has been owned by the same local farming family for generations. The recent renovation project has lovingly restored and modernised the house. Heating systems, kitchen, bathrooms and wiring are all new, with many period features such as original stone flooring & exposed beams.

The house is situated in a private and secluded spot and enjoys views across the valley, rolling hills, fields, woodlands and the pond. Within the recent renovation, new fencing has been installed all around the access to water to make it safe for all the family to enjoy.
Please note, at the time of the photos, not all fencing had been completed.

The original mill building which is connected to the Mill House, is home to the (non-operational) mill wheel and a stream that runs through. The family is keen on supporting green energy and are in the process of building a hydro generator within the old existing mill wheel which will provide free hot water for the Mill. Furthermore, the house also has it’s own water supply from a deep well.

GROUND FLOOR
The main front door opens to the large entrance hallway featuring a re-purposed antique French stove with ample space to welcome guests, and a separate WC. Beyond, is the new kitchen which has a built-in oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer and is finished with a white marble quartz worktop. There are a pair of traditional double-glazed steel doors which lead out on the patio area. There is space in the kitchen for a breakfast table for up to six seats. The dining room with original flagstone flooring and an open fireplace now leads off the kitchen. Beyond is the lounge/playroom which also has a pair of double doors leading to the sunken patio area and an open fire.
Further on the ground floor is a new wet room with a shower as well as the utility/plant room and a great dry and secure storage area for bikes or other equipment.

FIRST FLOOR
Leading on from the above new wet room up the secondary staircase is a large, vaulted ceiling bedroom or reception room with exposed beams and elm flooring. This room would work very well as the master bedroom or a flexible-use reception room. There is a large free-standing log burner as well as an additional room, the old corn drying floor, which would work well as a dressing area, or a study with double doors leading out onto the upper grounds of the Mill.

Back to the entrance hallway is the main staircase leading to a further 4 bedrooms, three of which are double. The new main family bathroom has twin sinks as well an enormous bath, with a shower above. With free hot water and views from the bath across the hills and pond outside it’s a wonderful space to relax and feel at home.

OUTSIDE
The house is accessed via its own driveway and has space for at least 4-5 cars. There is a converted stable block as well as a stone outbuilding which helps provides further storage if needed.

The gardens are elevated and have mature and new plants around the edge and side as well as mature fruit trees.

Please note, that there is a (rarely used) footpath which runs along the driveway. The property also sits near agricultural farmland and fields. The main farm and buildings are not in proximity to the house.
