1 Thompsons Hill

House For Sale £1,450,000
Thompsons Hill, Sherston, Malmesbury, Wiltshire, SN16

Description
A contemporary family home situated on the edge of a popular Cotswold village

Description

Thompsons Hill is found on the southern edge of the village, from the property there are stunning views across a small natural valley to the heart of the village and church.

In recent years the property has been cleverly transformed from a traditional home to offer a contemporary style of living. This has been successfully achieved by opening-up the ground floor accommodation. Extending into the garden to provide open plan living and to bring the outside in. Providing a wonderful kitchen which doubles as an all-round family room, and which benefits from bifold doors giving access to a garden terrace. Over-sized double timber doors open into the main reception room with wood burning stove and garden access. Like the kitchen it is light and airy and possesses interesting architectural details responding to the breath-taking sunsets and treescape beyond. Direct access from the kitchen leads to a good-sized utility room and the garage. Within the older part of the cottage is a study and guest bedroom and modern bathroom. On the first floor there are four bedrooms, the main one having its own dressing room and bathroom.

The walled garden is a particular feature of the property having originally been laid out by Rosemary Verey and has featured in Homes and Gardens. Featuring Herbaceous borders and an abundance of roses, mature shrubs and trees. A boule pitch nestles at the extent of the garden positioned to benefit from late evening sunsets and fabulous views. There is the added benefit of a pretty summer house which enjoys the evening sun. To the front of the house, parking is available for a number of vehicles, whilst to the side of the house is general storage.
