House For Sale £219,000
42a Hunstanton Road, Heacham, PE31

Description

The Property

Archway Cottage is a totally unique, Grade II listed, one bedroom cottage tucked away in a pretty corner of the coastal village of Heacham.  Overlooking the green and St Mary's church, this pretty property is located over the archway itself.  Built using traditional Norfolk carrstone it originally formed part of the original South entrance to Heacham Hall.  The cosy cottage consists of a living room, kitchen, double bedroom and shower room; with a handy secure, lockable outside storage area beneath, within the arch itself.

On entering the cottage you climb the broad stairs to the first floor and the living accommodation.  The sitting room is positioned over the archway itself with dual aspect windows, one looking out over the green and the other to the cottages behind.  There is an electric wood burning effect stove and two large 'love seat' armchairs.  Both the kitchen and the bedroom are off the sitting room.

The kitchen is well equipped with lots of wall and under counter cupboards, an integrated electric hob with oven below, space for an undercounter fridge and a table with two chairs looking out over the green.

The double bedroom has a window looking out to the rear of the archway and has some pretty exposed beams.

The shower room is located at the top of the stairs and features an electric shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Outside

Archway Cottage has a handy secure, lockable outside storage area located under the archway.  This is a very good size, with plumbing for a washing machine and the current owners have created a locked cupboard inside for their personal belongings to be stored when the cottage is let.  This would also be suitable for secure bike/golf club storage etc.

The residents of the cottages surrounding the green have permission to park alongside the chain fence, on the gravel drive leading under the archway.

The Location

The pretty village of Heacham lies in North West Norfolk overlooking The Wash and Hunstanton lies just 3 miles to the north. It has been a seaside village for over a century and a half and has two beautiful beaches which are among the few in Eastern England where the sun sets over the sea instead of over the land.

Archway Cottage is also well located for the many outside attractions Heacham has to offer, including numerous nature and bird reserves, coastal and rural walks. The renowned and well loved lavender fields are certainly one not to miss and while you are there you can grab some delicious local food from their cafe or alternatively if you are looking for somewhere to be wined and dined then head to the Michelin-starred Neptune Inn in Old Hunstanton.

If its stately homes you are after, there is no end of places to visit in Norfolk, including HM The King's Norfolk residence Sandringham House or Houghton Hall and Snettisham Park.

The village also has regular transport links to Hunstanton and also King's Lynn which has direct rail links to Cambridge and London Kings Cross.
