DESCRIPTION
Thyme Cottage is very pretty period cottage with much charm and character and with planning to extend, located in the sought-after hamlet of Upperton, adjacent to Petworth Park. The cottage believed to have origins dating from the late 18th Century, is at the end of a terrace and has lovely external elevations which include stone, with brick quoins, interspersed with painted wooden windows and all under a clay tiled roof. The accommodation includes many period features, including some exposed beams and a brick fireplace incorporating a wood burning stove. The current owners have recently made some significant improvements including fitting a brand new kitchen and bathroom. However, there are further areas that are considered to be in need of further updating and refurbishment. Planning consent was granted in May 2021 for a two-storey extension (SDNP/20/03116/HOUS) which would create three reception rooms and two double bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom and a separate shower room.

The accommodation comprises a sitting room, fully fitted kitchen, dining room and a study (possible occasional bedroom) on the ground floor with a double bedroom and ensuite bathroom on the first floor. We believe an incoming purchaser could split the bedroom in to two smaller rooms fairly easily.

Outside, at the rear, there is a pretty cottage garden, which is quite private and includes areas of lawn, various mature shrubs and climbing plants, a paved path and 3 large brick built storage sheds. There is also a path at the end of the garden which runs behind the neighbouring gardens and leads out onto the lane.
