Front Elevation

House For Sale £630,000
Back Street, East Stour, Gillingham, SP8

Description
Built of stone elevations with attractive brick quoins under a pitched slate roof, Mount Pleasant is an attractive family house that has been completely refurbished by the current owners with meticulous attention to detail. Works have included the installation of a new kitchen in 2017 with two Neff built-in ovens, a Neff microwave and extractor hood, a Bosch induction hob and a Bosch dishwasher. A new shower room was installed in 2018, and there is a high standard of joinery throughout. Other attributes include a water softener, a boiling water tap, open fire places in the dining room and sitting room (with an inset woodburner), double glazing throughout, good ceiling heights and light and bright accommodation. Karndean flooring has been installed in the kitchen, hall and dining room. In addition, a former outbuilding (which subject to planning consents could provide ancillary accommodation) has been converted into a useful outside office with broadband, light and power with French windows onto a paved terrace.

The property is approached off the shared tarmac drive onto a gravelled car parking and turning area with sufficient parking for at least three cars flanked by tall hedging on either side. The majority of the garden lies to the rear; adjoining the kitchen there is a gravelled area, and beyond this, a large grassed area with three raised flower beds and a timber garden store. There are two further stores in addition to the converted office.

Mount Pleasant is in the village of East Stour which is in the heart of the Blackmore Vale. East Stour has a church, a public house and a farm shop with a gym, hairdresser and beauty salon together with the village hall where there is a post office facility open every Wednesday between 10-12 noon. The neighbouring village of West Stour has a garage, shop, country pub hotel and restaurant. A wide range of everyday facilities can be found in Gillingham, which has a mainline railway station (London Waterloo 2 hours), a Waitrose and an excellent secondary school and primary schools. Also nearby is Shaftesbury, which has a number of niche retailers, banks, boutique hotel, churches, a small hospital, health centre, library and an arts centre. More sophisticated requirements can be found in the cathedral city of Salisbury to the east, Sherborne to the west and Bath to the north. The A303 lies some 6 miles to the north, giving access to the south west and London, via the M3.
