We live in a beautiful area of rolling heath land, with pines, deciduous woodland and ponds where swimming is permitted. The local geography is unique, nearby tumuli from bronze age burial grounds from chieftains and stone outcrops. There is much to investigate by foot. Frensham Common is a large Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI); The Devil's Jumps and Devil's Punchbowl. Open water swimming 10 minutes walk in nearby Frensham Great Pond.We are thoroughly spoiled living amongst two vast beautiful commons. From our doorstep you are out in open nature, we are secluded.
The main Georgian Farmhouse was once the poor house for the area, thereafter a Victorian agricultural college, sitting within a small holding of 25 acres. As agriculture is no longer our main function the buildings have been converted over the years. The old goat house, stable lodge. the forge and grain house have taken on new residential purpose. Meadow Cottage is a rebuild on straddle stones for aesthetic purpose with a nod to the past.
Living here you will be privy to the little community should you so wish, as there are five properties in total and a livery yard. Enough space for us all to have privacy and do our own thing too.
We grow organic seasonal fruit and vegetables, keep chickens and our own bee hives, excess glut crops available.
